Can you guys help me justify this price?
While I have been on the search for a white dialed watch to fill the void of the tachymiler that I bought and then sold ( foolishly ) from Brice I was sent a pic of the yet to be released Deep Blue 7750 with white dial. It has sapphire Lumed bezel, nice clean and uncluttered white dial with black sub dials. T100 tubes, orange hands on the subs and also a orange large chrono second hand. The black and blue dials were sold on shlop for near $1300 if I recall.
Taking into consideration that the 7750 can be had in a Hamilton for the $500-600 range. Is a 500m, sapphire Lumed bezel and a ungodly amount of t100 tubes worthy of the price range on a Chinese cased and assembled watch. Only 100 pieces have been made and DB overseas distributers will absorb some of these so there will be far less than the 100 available.
I really like the look of the watch and I do like Deep Blue.

May I suggest looking for a used Ball. If you need to see some search ball here, hawk put up a bunch of pictures from his collection. As for the DB being that price I don't see it personally I think 500-600 would work. If you're looking for a clean white dial i have a CW c6 kingfisher.

I like DB too...however the idea was, the price point/bang for the buck .
DB uses (as you stated) generic cases, far east final assembly etc...nothing special about them that justified that price .
If you like the tubes ? follow Ocean's advice, a pre-loved Ball is the way to go, you can even buy a pre-loved Breitling Colt chronometer, on that price range for God's sake.
I noticed that some of these micros are losing their perspective

You ncan do better for this price or less. I'd stay away from a SHOPNBC DB at that price point personally.

Well, the friend of mine sent me the shlop link today as it is posted there now with the sold out banner. It is supposed to air april 10 and they have it listed for $1799....WTF? I know it will come down some near air date but it will still be $1200-$1300 range.
I don't like deep blue that much!
And as far as the tubes go, I am not really I big fan of those either on any watch so that may rule out a ball. I have never had 100 tubes and only owned one 25 tube watch. The thing that gets me is the half life and the cost to replace when they start dying. Even though my fat ass will likely not live long enough to worry about it at this point I still cannot justify tube prices with this in my head.
Thanks for your reply guys, I appreciate it.

I agree that you can get those or similar specs on a pre-owned Ball for a reasonable price.

The L E production means nothing in a brand with no real collector status what so ever and appears to add significantly to the price of this watch based on D B's other offerings. I'd take a pass.
