Seiko Tuna rant.
I have been thinking about this for awhile, has the Seiko Tuna fallen from grace? I took an absolute bath on mine. I know watches don't make money but damn. I have bought and sold watches for a long time. This is the first time on a watch that seems to have no followers. This was also the first watch I received and almost sent back. The most expensive quartz I ever bought new at a little over 1200. I guess it just comes down to no more Tuna please. Rant over.

Ocean, I love the Tuna yet not the newest model. I have come close to making a purchase three or four time on one. I think what I have decided is to try and find an older model. They seem to be selling for a little more than I want to spend on a quartz movement that's more than twenty years old.

Alas, all Japanese watches blow at resale--the only one that seems to hold it's value (kind of) is the Bad Ass Seiko Monster.
While there are some very astute and urbane collectors for the higher-end Japanese stuff, most of it lanquishes on the sales forums. The lower end Japanese watches seem to do a little better, but if you buy at retail, you're going to take a bath when it comes to selling it.

If it isn't a Rolex, Patek, or solid gold, then it is bath time.

That's why I buy used. But I have seen prices on the Tuna's dropping here as of late. I'm still looking for an auto version to buy at some point. I still think it is a good looking watch.

Well the Sumo seems to be hold it's value pretty good also, aside from Seiko's low/mid end ..Everytime I look at Watchrecon, the high-end Seiko brethren, are holding their own as well.
