Need a place to vent and this is where I chose. First for those that don't know I send my kids to a private school. Today Mrs. Ocean tells me that all large purchases are on hold and proceeds to tell me instead of 10 months to pay the school we have 5 months. My normal 1200 dollar payment just doubled. For a couple of years the price has gone up but I didn't see this coming. I guess I will have to sit down with my adviser and see what we can do. Rainy day funds here I come again, damn it.

My three siblings and I all grew up pretty poor. My mom wanted us all to go to private school and they all had programs where kids, like us, would work either during lunch time, passing out lunches or cleaning classrooms for an hour after school. It helped pay for tuition and taught us work ethic. I don't know if these programs were restricted to a certain income level, but it's something to think about.

I'm going to college as some of you might know. I go full time, 12 to 15 credits a semester. I am finishing my AA Degree this semester and start a four year school in the fall at MCLA. I waited this long for a few reasons. One of which is a very poor background. I work a small job at Berkshire Community College in the Testing Center 12 hours a week. Yesterday I was told by the state that I am no longer going to receive help with insurance or food stamps because I don't work enough hours and because the state of Mass does not support liberal arts programs of study anymore. I was told if I was in a nursing program or welding or even a pluming program they would keep helping me. I though about it for a short minute and I will stay on the path I have chosen for myself, it's all good. No one who knows me ever though I could do what I am doing. I think its sad that we can spend insane amounts of money to build bombs and so little on education. I know teachers in more than a few states who spend money out of their pockets to buy things for their classrooms that the states have stopped paying for.
