Fontomatic movement?

I saw a broken watch with this movement on Ebay. In researching information on it, I am coming up with very little. What I have gotten so far is; it could have anywhere between 17-60 jewels and I see where it was used in the 70's in Waltham, Gruen and a few brands that I didn't recognize. This movement doesn't come up much on Ebay.
Was this a bad movement or a sought after movement? Do watches with this movement cost more? Is the cost more for repairs and maintenance cleanings than on other movement's? The movement looks pretty solid.
Does anyone have experience with this movement or knowledge of why it is so hard to find? Thanks.

1960's is what think. The movement is a concern if the gear doesn't engage I don't know how hard it would be to rebuild. I would start with a good cleaning and oil the movement but the place you are going start is with a crown from the picks it is missing and probably the reason the are calling it broken. If you don't bid on it let me know as I would like to get a chance to play with the movement.

I don't plan on getting it. If I get one, I'd like one that is in working order. I was intrigued that I couldn't find more about them and more watches with that movement. If you get it, please keep us updated on it, I'd like to know more about it.

That's an interesting looking movement that is very reminiscent of my Citizen Jet Auto Dater and Citizen 7 Auto Dater, both of which work quite well.  (I did a review on the '7' here.) The most either of them needed has been a good cleaning.

At the risk of getting smacked around by Ocean, you might want to take a chance on it; the Daters movements are very robust, and that one looks to be the same, though the appearance obviously differs.  Finding one in pristine condition is a rather sisyphian task, though.
