Looks like an eBay purchase from siphon_I. He is a pariah on the Seiko boards, but I have had good results with him (and have a vintage Seiko Lordmatic incoming).

I've read all about him on watchuseek. I decided to go for it as he has only 3 negative feedback out of over 6000 auctions and none within the last 3 months and none involving citizens or seikos. Also paypals stance on fakes gives me some comfort. I'll have my watchmaker open it up first thing.
I AM switching my purchase to the non-pvd version as I'm not too enamored with the finish on the pvd version once I saw it on an HD monitor.

It's a refurbished 8110 (67-9011) with a crappy black finish.
I'm switching to this:
I know the refurbishing might turn some purists off, but I bought it, not looking for a vintage citizen. But rather a unique automatic chronograph for little dough. The refurbishing is a plus (provided my watchmaker doesn't find a complete mess with the back off.

Sophon is pretty good, most vintages in good to excellent working conditions, are refurbished in some degree...no worries there still a vintage as long as the refurbishing has been done correctly .AJC wrote:It's a refurbished 8110 (67-9011) with a crappy black finish.eddiea wrote:What's the model number of that bullhead Andrew?

Like the SS better than the PVD sample....

Careful with the Lord Matics...the date quick set is a plastic part (except for the very latest more expensive editions) and tend to quick working .mrneddles wrote:Looks like an eBay purchase from siphon_I. Re: Incoming Citizen (my first)
Just heard back from him and he's sending the non-PVD version. I was drooling over a completely original NOS bullhead I saw elsewhere but the price was too high for me at this time.
I'm hoping I can fit a nice thick black leather strap in these lugs. If not I'm thinking brady sailcloth.

NOS auto Bullheads Seiko or Citizen are a myth, possible but highly unlikely....AJC wrote:Just heard back from him and he's sending the non-PVD version. I was drooling over a completely original NOS bullhead I saw elsewhere but the price was too high for me at this time.

Good thing I didn't go fo that then. Are all 8110s vertical clutch column wheel flyback chronos?

Yes , both the Seiko 6139 and the Citizen 8110 are both vertical clutch, column wheel chronographs, but only the Citizen is also a flyback.....
