Louis Erard?
I'm considering picking this up as part of a trade deal with another guy. I like the dial and I really like the movement (ETA 2895). Does anyone have any experience or info on this brand?

To the best of my knowledge, it is a decent quality entry level luxury brand. Not much exposure Stateside, I don't think they have a big AD network here.

Thanks for the info. I'm a little gun shy on picking this up, but according to my research, I'm gonna come out on top on this trade (he gets a T-Rex 2824 and a crappy Swiss Legend Abyssos 2836).

Re: Louis Erard?
I know right? When he offered me the watch, I initially turned it down because I wasn't too hip on the dial. But after looking into it, I decided I would have to be brain damaged not to jump on it.
I just received my FedEx tracking number today... So, we'll see how this plays out.

They have been around since the 1930's, making movements for others, they seem OK.Stormchaser wrote:I'm considering picking this up as part of a trade deal with another guy. I like the dial and I really like the movement (ETA 2895). Does anyone have any experience or info on this brand?

Noticed that the LE post stated that is fitted with an ETA 2895-2 with 30 stones (jewels) that is incorrect as the ETA 2895 is a 27 jewels movement (unless of course it has been modified) otherwise it seems too good to be true, but you'll never know, good luck .

Re: Louis Erard?
Well, it showed up today. I've been at a convention for work all week and had FedEx hold it until today, since it had to be signed for "directly".
I like it. A few more "swirlies" than I expected, but overall, I'd rate it 90%-ish. It'll be a great addition to my shallow "dress watch" pool.
Thanks for the info Eddie. I appreciate it.
