Don't know whether Wing has regained his senses or not, but that one looks great and the size is right.

Re: Has Wing regained his senses?
I agree. That's really not bad, and at a sensible size, at that. Since it's Tungsten, if it was 50mm it would probably weigh two pounds. But as you gents suggested, I hope this is a trend, because there are far worse inexpensive companies, at the very least.

Re: Has Wing regained his senses?
That's a beauty, and I'm truly hoping it will bear a reasonable cost. As to Wing's 'coming to his senses', I just don't know, as one of his most recent designs featured a 55mm case; one wonders if this was an answer to Renato's monster 'Monster'. Ultimately, despite so many predictions of their imminent demise, these 'Gi-Norma-Nomas' keep on selling. We may never see their total departure, but I do believe that those 44mm, 42mm and even 40mm watches will always be considered 'classic' sizes. Okay, maybe 44's pushing the envelope a bit, but after seeing 50's, 55's and even a 63mm thyroidal monstrosity, 44mm really does seem like a classic...

More details via Facebook, high polish tungsten case and MOP dial, two choices. Another image:

I think it's a step in the right direction as far as size goes. Tungsten is heavy and is very close to the weight of gold.

I really like this watch. Can't imagine buying it at ShopNBC, which ate up my last nerve a couple of years back with their slow, inept, crazily bad product fulfillment. Hopefully, Wing will offer it at his own site eventually.

The MOP kills it for me. If the dial was matte black I may have jumped.

I'm with you there, DB; maybe they should have gone with something like a black onyx or lapis. Although I haven't sunk to the depths with Invicta's gen-u-wine 'MOP sticker,' I am suffering from a bit of 'MOP fatigue.' Uhm, if you will...

Re: Has Wing regained his senses?
Mother of Pearl if tastefully done is ok imo. Seems the majority of these far-east watch companies prefer the gaudy & ghey in your face rainbow effect.
Wing actually produced a nice MOP watch done right (I own one) called the Stealth automatic (2824 w/ sapphire crystals).
That watch shipped with a higher grade MOP having just a "wisp" of color in the black dial.
OP watch?? Too angled/sharpe appearance, that and the ghey MOP.

Re: Has Wing regained his senses?
Every time I see them post a new watch on Facebook I ask them when there will be a reasonably sized watch. Sometimes I even do it in a respectful way. Every single time I am ignored. For the time being I won't even consider this brand.

Which is very ironic, because a few years back - around '08 or '09, the big complaint against Wing was that he was making too many small (40-42MM) watches. The geeks started bangin' away at him and, led by Jimblo, they were ultimately successful...now Wing's making watches up to 55mm ( ):

Never thought I'd ever see such a thing from Android...

I see designs that I like very much. There is a Silverjet auto using the Miyota 9015 that I like very much but at 50mm I simply can't wear it without looking foolish.

I may have recommended this one before; if so, please disregard:

The only one left is the silvertone w/blue markings, but I think it's the best looking of the three. I own both the yellow & silvertone versions, and I wear both a lot on weekends and other informal occasions. At $99, it's not a huge investment. The only downside is that it sits a bit high on the wrist and is a little weighty...however, as a big, strapping member of the World's Finest Army, it's the equivalent of the weight of a mosquito in full mosquito invasion gear to you...
FWIW, I send Wing a lot of emails over the course of the year, and one of the things I've repeatedly asked him for is a classic diver, with 40-42MM case size and either an ETA 2824 or a comparable Miyota movement...he answers quite few of my rants, assuring me that he's 'working on it'...hmmm /

Re: Has Wing regained his senses?
I think wing is taking a certain portion of his designs back to the " old school " way of thinking. Shlop has a huge influence on what these companies watches look like. They have these smaller companies ( ie not invicta ) on a very short leash. Maybe these watches are him diversifying his company again. Don't get me wrong, I know wing designs his own watches but when his biggest sales outlet says " bigger, heavier, more perrty colors and so forth he almost has to cave into their pressure.

Getting there (now to ship with a auto/mechanical, "might" be worth the expense).

Hi Mort: I'm haven't been around for a while, been on Holiday in Normandy. Glad to see the site's doing well: I'll be continuing to give it my support as best I can.
